January 2017 at the library

Last month we held 2017’s first board meeting and FEL’s first membership program of the year! We were happy to have 30-plus members in attendance to hear author and Artfully Edmonds columnist Emily Hill of MyEdmondsNews.com talk about her books, her past career in communications and her work as a local arts columnist. If you missed the meeting, you can find the minutes here.

We also announced two new co-chairs for our Annual Sale in October: Todd Sandhop and Janice Baron. Thank you to both for volunteering and we’re looking forward to the Annual Sale’s continued success. Judy Forgey and her team in the Ongoing Sale in the library have big plans for new themed displays, so check out the Ongoing Sale area starting February 8 for the next installment.

In library programming the Music at the Library Series continued with Sno-Isle Lake Stevens employee Bryan Stratton and family giving an informative talk and concert of the music of singers and songwriters of the 1960s. Audience participation was encouraged and very much heard!

FEL’s next program will be February 23 at 1:30pm with a social hour at 1pm. We will be hosting two international students from Edmonds Community College and are looking forward to welcoming them to our group. Don’t forget to also check out the Calendar of Edmonds Library events¬†for other FEL-supported programs.
